A new Tech Space for Louisburgh.

Opening Autumn 2019;

Axis Youth Space (Louisburgh) are expanded our existing skill set and adding an exciting new tech space to our current list of services in Louisburgh from autumn 2019. Our tech space will be the first of its kind in the area and lots of research, training and planning has already gone into this idea.

This tech space will also be equipped to deliver the ground breaking virtual reality "skills 2 succeed academy program" for young people trying to prepare for future employment. The Skills 2 Succeed Academy is developed by Accenture who are a global brand and one of Europes leading tech skills, training a employment opportunity companies and we are privileged to currently be receiving on-going training and support from them to bring this amazing program to Louisburgh later this year.

Did you know that almost half the jobs today's preschool children will be working in as adults hasn't been invented yet?

Our new tech club is going to be a Foróige space with a real difference as this one is all about learning, improving personal and life skills through tech while having fun. Building and coding apps, websites while making basic online games and basic robotics also form a big part of this new space. Other fun activities include making things like a keyboard with bananas and helicopters from paper cups. Learning through fun is our main goal.

A message from TechSpace Ireland;

TechSpace is a national movement that provides opportunities for young people to be creative using technology. It aims to become Ireland’s leading creative technology network for educators to train and upskill in digital Creativity and STEAM.

Young People are living in a digital age and the TechSpace Network exists to enable them to become creators of technology, not just consumers.Providing opportunities for people to engage in Digital Creativity and STEAM activities will allow them to create and make with purpose, impacting lives and inspiring the future.

We design and deliver training, activities, resources and opportunities through English and Irish for youth workers, teachers and volunteers. The programme content such as film-making, animation, soldering, robotics, electronics, mobile journalism, audio production, coding, graphic design, 3D printing, and more helps to develop 21st-century skills such as creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.

Our aim:

Our mission is to empower young people to expand their skill set and allow them to explore the real possibilities from their own ideas through tech, art and creativity is the way forward. If young people can dream it, our aim is to help them build it. Every young person is different and every young person has a dream and it's our hope to make them dreams a reality. Technology is a key factor in our children's future, so let's try and make it fun.
